Karachi, September 1 — ICC’s anti-corruption and security unit’s senior official reached Pakistan in connection to the alleged spot-fixing against three Pak cricketers in England.
According to reports from TV channe
ls, ICC ACSU officer Reza Hasan to meet Federal Investigation Agency officials in Pakistan and also to collect information from Mohammad Asif’s, the tainted player, former girlfriend Veena Malik.
One of the channels said, “Reza Hasan will also interview film actress and model, Veena Malik a former girlfriend of pace bowler Mohammad Asif.”
Earlier, in a TV interview, Veena Malik claimed to have evidence of links between Mohammad Asif and a bookmaker from India. She also claimed that the Sydney Test against Australia was fixed. She even said that she has met the bookmaker.
A source said, “The interesting thing is that since this new scandal came up Pakistani bookies and punters have gone underground and suspended their business and their work dens anticipating a crackdown on them.”
