Tendulkar required only 39 runs to touch this milestone, but he went for 100, his 43rd 100. India began the second innings with 334 deficit. The match ended with a draw.

Master Blaster Tendulkar is all-time leader in Team India with his runs and centuries in ODIs and test cricket. With this milestone he became the first batsman to achieve this mark. His closet rival is Ricky Ponting of Australia who is 6,000 runs behind.

This latest triumph of his is the second in a week. Earlier he celebrated 20 years of his as an international cricket.

At the age of 36 Tendulkar is still very fit to do miracle on pitch with his bat and it seems that he is still hungry for runs. It seems he still has power in his bat to add more achievements to his career.

Sachin Tendulkar has only played one Twenty20, the second IPL. The former Australian coach John Buchanan said Sachin Tendulkar is not suited to Twenty20 cricket. Tendulkar has opted out of Twenty20 internationals but not the IPL.

Buchanan said, “Tendulkar has been lauded, and rightly so, as one of the very top batsmen in the history of cricket.” He wrote in his book, The Future of Cricket: The Rise of Twenty20, “…But is he an effective T20 player at this stage of his career?”

One more milestone is awaiting for Tendulkar. He is just one wicket short of 200 international wickets. Now he is having 44 wickets in Tests, 154 in ODIs and 1 in T20 cricket.

What Tendulkar said earlier:

Asked how much has changed in his game in the 20 years, Tendulkar said, “I have changed a lot. I am trying to improve myself every game. It is a never ending process as everyday is a fresh challenge. So it is hard job to be on your toes everytime.”

Nov 12, 2009
“I know there is lot of cricket left in me because I am still enjoying it,” said Tendulkar. “I am not thinking of retirement. At some stage, I will have to, but I don’t need to think of it right now.”

Nov 10, 2009
Asked how he would like to be remembered once he hangs up his boot, Tendulkar said, “As somebody who played for the team and was true, sincere and honest as a member of the side……as somebody who has given it all and wanted to be a good…”
