Half Day in Punjab schools & offices on Shivratri
Today is the half-day in Punjab schools & offices. The Punjab Government has declared half day in all the schools, primary as well as secondary schools and offices of Punjab on the occasion of Shivratri.
The Punjab Government has made this announcement on Tuesday evening.
Bomb Blast in Assam on Tuesday
A bomb exploded near a stationary mini bus in Shibsagar town of Assam in which two persons were injured on Tuesday evening. The incident took place at around 4:05 pm in the town when passengers were alighting from the bus. An official said that the two men were injured & the condition of one is stated to be serious.
The official said that the CRPF personnel suspect that the seriously injured man was carrying the bomb. Police is investigating the matter.

An Indian student has been killed in the US. A medical student, Akkaldelvi Srinivas from Karimnagar district of Andhra Pradesh was found murdered by unknown assailants in Pennsylvania over the weekend. Akkaldelvi Srinivas 29 years old who was pursuing his second year MD in Internal Medicine from Mercy Hospital, in Scrantontown, Pennsylvania, was found murdered on Saturday.

Row over Scarlett Keeling British girl’s death in Goa, India
A fight has blown up over the death of a teenager Scarlett Keeling from Devon whose body was found on a beach in India. Scarlett Keeling who was 15 years old from Bideford had been on a six-month holiday with her family. Scarlett Keeling’s body was found at the resort of Anjuna, Goa, on 18 February.

A suicide car bomber on Tuesday attacked a government building in eastern Afghanistan in which a policeman killed & 5 people injured including an Afghan soldier. Supreme Court: “No Ban on Jodha-Akbar”

Bomb Blast in Lahore
Four bomb blasts occured on Tuesday in Pakistan Navy’s War College in Lahore in which 5 people were killed & many injured. The cause of the blasts was not immediately known. Witnesses said they first heard two blasts that occurred almost simultaneously. These were followed by two more explosions after a gap of few minutes.

16-year-old girl charged in murder of her family
A 16 years old girl has been formally charged in the killings of her mother & two young brothers.
The officials are not releasing the daughter’s name because she is a juvenile, but said they believe she was angry because her parents would not let her date one of three other suspects.
