Boxing legend’s sister Vunies High died

Vunies High the sister of Joe Louis a boxin legend was found frozen to death outside her apartment at an assisted-living center.
She was 90 years old. The body of Vunies High, who had Alzheimer’s disease, was found on Monday outside the Heatherwood retirement complex in Southfield.
When she was found, she was dressed only in pajamas & was wearing one shoe, with the other lying nearby. An autopsy shows that she had died of hypothermia. Southfield police Lt. Nick Loussia said ….

Earthquake in northeast corner of Nevada

An earthquake of 6.3 magnitude hits the northeast corner of Nevada on Thursday morning at 6:16 a.m. local time. The eartquake was at a depth of 6.2 miles below the surface. The epicenter of this strong earthquake was at Elko County a sparsely populated area which was about 150 miles from the Salt Lake City, Utah.

The Piet Dam a Former Dutch Rallycross ace & 1981 European Rallycross Championship runner-up, died on February 20 following a prolonged illness. Piet Dam was 61 years old. Piet was a very kind & humble character who never tried to put himself in the limelight.
Piet became well-known in the 1970s & 1980s as an ERC campaigner with well-prepared BMW 320s, especially for his progressive & successful BMW 320 Turbo 4×4 used from early 1984 till late 1986.

Famous Poet Arun Kale died on Wednesday following an heart attack. Arun Kale was 54 years old. His first book on poem “Rock Garden” was published in 1993, following which his other collections including the popular “City of Siren” went on to recieve accolades.

The personal photographer of LTTE supremo Vellupillai Prabhakaran the “Colonel” Thawa has died on Wednesday. Thawa known to be one of the closest confidant of the Tiger leader joined the Tamil Tigers in 1985 & served the rebel group for 23 years.
Tiger political head B. Nadesan has mourned the death of Thawa. Thawa has been the main photographer for LTTE leader Prabhakaran & has accompanied him on many of his visits by photographing the events.

Prakash Paranjpe the MP of Shiv Sena has died in Thane, Mumbai, on Wednesday night following a prolonged illness. Prakash Paranjpe was 61 years old.

Police nabbed 2 Haryana commandos in Rape case

Chandigarh police arrested two commandos of the Haryana police from outside the Haryana governor’s residence, after they were accused of raping a 40 years old woman.
The woman works with a local catering company. The woman said that the commandos stopped her as she was returning home late last night & taken to their quarters & then raped her. Police registered an FIR & investigating the matter.

Fighter pilot dies after crash in Florida

A Pilot has died when two US F-15C fighter planes crashed in mid-air near Florida. The planes were on a training mission when they crashed over the Gulf of Mexico, about 80km from Eglin Air Force Base in Florida. The pilots were able to eject before th crash but the Air Force later said one of the two pilots had died. The other was said to be in good condition.

A minor blast has been occured in cinema hall of Mumbai on Wednesday afternoon. The blast occured when the cinema hall was showing the film “Jodha-Akbar” by Ashutosh Gowarikar. Another site for Appu Ghar in Delhi

The Supreme Court has asked the Central government to allot an alternative site for the Appu Ghar at market price within two months if it is possible. Muslim Brotherhood members arrested

Police of Egypt on Wednesday arrested 74 members of the opposition Muslim Brotherhood, Islamists. They were arrested for belonging to an illegal organisation. The Islamists were arrested in dawn raids from their homes in Cairo.
On Sunday the police have arrested 51 Brotherhood members. Another 36 Muslim Brothers were arrested on February 14. They were belong to an office which operates openly in downtown Cairo.
