The 7365 fighters of Peoples’ Liberation Army choose to back out, which is a huge development in Nepal’s peace process.

The retired fighters were given cheques worth INR 3.12 lakh — INR5 lakh based on service and rank.

The procedure started from yesterday in the Nawalparasi, Chitwan and Sindhuli; and will start in the other four major cantonments from today. The whole procedure is expected to be complete in two weeks.

Once the fighters leave, the number of cantonments will be reduced to 14. After that the procedure to integrate other Peoples’ Liberation Army men to Nepal Army will start.

Since 2006 Comprehensive Peace Accord, around 19000 Peoples’ Liberation Army fighters were living in 7 major cantonments and 28 small cantonments throughout Nepal.

Their weapons were held locked inside the cantonments under superintendence first by the United Nation mission in the country and after that by a Special Secretariat. They were given monthly rations and stipend.

Despite joining mainstream politics and heading the government two times, the Maoists had unique note of having their own army.

An eyewitness told that two were killed by the police as they were attempting to diffuse angry protesters in Suez. In Cairo, huge number of protesters stayed on the streets after a day of clashes with the Egyptian police.

On Thursday, the supporters of Al-Ahly got together, in the Egyptian capital, outside the club’s stadium. The protesters headed towards Tahrir Square and then towards interior ministry, where they were kept aback by the security forces who fired tear gas on them. Protesters chanted slogans against country’s rulers.

Funerals of 74 people, killed in Wednesday’s clash, took place in the city of Port Said. According to eye-witnesses, most seems to have happened in a stampede after supporters of Al-Masry, the home team, forced in to the ground after a 3 – 1 win against Egypt’s top team Al-Ahly.

Sources say demonstrators were attempting to break into the police station in Suez and now police forces were firing off live ammunition. Earlier, the Prime Minister of Egypt sacked many senior officials.

On Wednesday, over thousand people got injured in the violence when football supporters staged a pitch invasion in the city of Port Said. Rival supporters came into the ground, hurling sticks and stones at each other. Among the dead were some security personnel.

The state prosecutor has asked for an immediate probe into the causes of deaths. According to eye-witnesses, most seems to have happened in a stampede after supporters of Al-Masry, the home team, forced in to the ground after a 3 – 1 win against Egypt’s top team Al-Ahly.

Country’s football federation has declared an indefinite suspension of leagues. In another statement, the Egyptian Football Federation declared a period of mourning.

Sepp Blatter, the FIFA president said in a statement, “I am very shocked and saddened to learn this evening that a large number of football supporters have died or been injured following a match in Port Said, Egypt,”

“My thoughts are with the families of those who have lost their lives this evening.”

“This is a black day for football. Such a catastrophic situation is unimaginable and should not happen.” added the statement.

The Indian Air Force will purchase the first eighteen jets off the shelf whereas the other hundred and eighteen will be made with the partnership of an Indian company.

Rafale fighter subordinated the Eurofighter Typhoon to seal the contract. The bid for the Eurofighter was supported by four partner countries – Spain, UK, Germany and Italy. Last year, on 4th November, The Indian defense ministry unfolded the commercial bids of the 2 firms staying in the run. The others failed to cope with the technical qualifications.

The Indian Air Force called for bids from military aviation majors to deliver 126 medium multi-role combat aircraft for which, it had six competitors — Rafale, Russia’s MIG-35, F-18 Hornet, USA’s F-16 Falcon, European EADS EuroFighter Typhoon and Swedish Saab Gripen.

The Rafale fighter is a 2-engine jet, set up for multi-role performances, including reconnaissance, ground attack and air defense. This fighter jet can bear 9 tons of bombs.

However, the Afghan diplomat told that there were no arrangements for a third group to be present during the negotiations in Saudi Arabia. He stated, “So far, there is no third party that will be present at the talks.”

The dialogues in Saudi Arabia will be different from the United States-brokered meetings took place in Qatar and it is going to be the first such dialogues to occur in the Sunni Muslim kingdom. In Qatar, the Taliban negotiators have started overture words with the US on peace targeted at ending the war in Afghanistan. They are also intending to build a office in Doha. A fellow member of the leadership council of Taliban told on Sunday that the idea that the Taliban must have a point of contact in Saudi Arabia is pushed by the Afghan and Pakistan governments. He also added that Pakistan was finding itself ‘sidelined’ from the United States brokered talks.

Other tech companies like Google, Yahoo, Facebook, Twitter, AOL and various other popular sites have also spoken against the legislation and told that this act jeopardizes their livelihood. Some other sites like Reddit have also expressed their desire to go dark and join the protest as well.

Now, when you open any Wikipedia page, the site displays a black page and informs the visitor about SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Act) and the PIPA (Protest Intellectual Property Act).

Wikipedia is counted among the most visited as well as popular sites across the world with millions of daily visitors. The site is known to cover every little topic and provides information about almost everything.

The Wikimedia foundation stated that if the legislation is passed, then it will harm the free and open internet and bring about new tools for censorship of international websites inside the United States. According critics, this legislation could harm the tech industry and go against the free speech rights.

The site is also asking everyone to contact their senators to discuss this matter. A spokesperson for the Wikimedia foundation stated that Wikipedia is about being open.

Senior military officials confirmed that the video is authentic. The official added that they have been able to identify at least two of the marines, but they did not reveal the names.

Leon Panetta, the defense secretary, told in a statement that he condemns the incident in strongest possible terms. He added that the conduct is entirely inappropriate for the members of US military and does not manifest the standards or values United States armed forces are sworn to carry on.

In a statement NATO stated, “A video recently posted on a public website appears to show US military personnel committing an inappropriate act with enemy corpses,”

“This disrespectful act is inexplicable and not in keeping with the high moral standards we expect of coalition forces.”

The government of Afghanistan asked for a full investigation. Afghanistan is a key ally in America’s war against terror and they do not want do anything that will displease Afghanistan. Leon Panetta called the Afghan president and assured of a full investigation calling the incident shocking and inhuman.
