N K Sinha, the additional Secretary of the HRD Ministry told that initially the government bought one lakh tablets but they require 22 crore more Aakash tabs in the coming years as per Human Resource Ministry.

Aakash 2 will be three times faster compared to its predecessor as it will have 1GB RAM instead of 256 megabytes. The tab will also feature a front camera for video chatting. The price of the tablet will be around Rs. 2200.

The latest version of the tablet is improved based on the inputs gathered from students of engineering colleges.

On Friday, a senior HRD ministry official told that all issues have been resolved. The much improved tablet will be received from Datawind by the end of this month.
