3rd Feb, 2012, London: Now, internet giant Google will block blogs or posts from being available to internet users, depending on a nation’s laws. Few days back, social networking site Twitter announced country-specific censorship, which triggered an outrage among users around the world.

Critics thrashed the move saying that the change sets a new trend in the internet companies bowing to the requirements of authoritarian regimes.

According to reports, Google stated that this step would grant more freedom of opinions. The company also told that the blogs would be seeable everywhere in the world except for one country. Google stated that this move would permit them to continue encouraging free expression while offering greater tractability in complying with sensible removal requests in local law.

According to a leading daily, both Twitter and Google stated that their act would grant their services to co-exist with regimes. Blogger, Google’s blogging service appeared in the year 1999, has been banned in countries like Iran, Syria and China.

Last year, social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter turned crucial for people, who were asking for democracy in Arab countries, especially Egypt, where these sites went flooded with messages.

According to reports, IIT-Rajasthan has fallen behind on the Aakash 2 contract. The government, annoyed with the turn of incidents, especially after IIT-Rajasthan and Datawind brabbled over a host of specs, has now determined to allot the task of carrying out the procurance of the Aakash 2 tab.

The indifferences between the procurement agency and the makers mounted to such degree that supplies had to be snub.

This institution is always treated with high regard, but this is a huge blow for them. IIT-Rajasthan, not only lost out on the Aakash 2’s procurement deal to PSU, but also missed out on the job of drafting of features and specs to the DIT (Department of Information and Technology).

Datawind, the maker of the tab, though have acquired an extended LC till March, but for now, their post-March course seems undecided. Reports suggest that the government has settled his mind on TCIL (Telecommunications Consultants India Ltd) or ITI Ltd.

Aakash 2 tablet’s new tenders will fit about a million units and then the job of procurement will have to be dealt among 2 – 3 vendors. Definitely, IIT-Rajasthan and Datawind have come down to history for being a part of a huge event, though, that union has been cut off now.

Kazuo Hirai, who is a music and games veteran at the company, will be replacing Stringer who will be the chairman of the board of directors in June. Hirai will take over as the chief executive officer and the president in April.

Howard Stringer told that he is looking forward to help Kazuo Hirai in every way he can so that succession leads inevitably to success, Hirai is ready to lead, and this is the right time to make this change.

51 year old Hirai played a major part in preparing PlayStation in the 1990s and passed most of his career in videogames, movies and other software business at the company. He stated that as challenging as times are for Sony at this point of time, were it not for the strong leadership of Sir Howard Stringer these last seven years, they would have been in a much more tough position.
