Madhya Pradesh fair stampede killed nine

Police on Thursday said that at least nine people were killed & seven injured in a stampede late Wednesday at a religious fair in Ashok Nagar in Madhya Pradesh.
The incident occurred at Janaki temple on the occasion of rang-panchami in the Sita Temple grounds situated in Kareela in Ashok Nagar district in western Madhya Pradesh.
The injured have been admitted to the district hospital.

A security guard killed an army soldier on Wednesday. An official said that the Army jawan was shot dead by security guard, who mistook him to be an intruder at an Army camp in Drass area of Kargil district.

Security forces killed Hizbul Mujahideen militant

The security forces on Tuesday killed a Hizbul Mujahideen militant in an encounter in Jammu & Kashmir’s Reasi district.
On a specific information, troops of 59 Rastriya Rifles launched a cordon & search operation in an area in Gulabgarh belt of Reasi district around 07:30 am on Tuesday.
During the encounter, which was still on, one Hizbul militant was killed & an AK rifle & large amount of ammunition were recovered.

Dima Halam Daogah militants exploded a bomb at a railway station in South Assam’s North Cachar Hills district on Monday night in which four, three railway employees & a persons, killed & several injured.

Supreme Court ordered to reinvestigate post Godhra riots

The Supreme Court on Tuesday ordered to constitute a five-member special investigation team to re-investigate the post-Godhra communal riots. The SC said it would submit its report within three months.

Grenade blast injured BSF soldier

A grenade exploded in Akhnoor border belt in Jammu & Kashmir on Tuesday in which a Border Security Force jawan was injured.
The grenade was exploded accidently. The grenade exploded during a firing practice in Khleeth firing range in Akhnoor border belt causing injuries to Havaldar Inder Vishwasiya of the BSF.

Sama Mehta an eight years old girl has been died on saturday & four others of her family were taken ill after consuming chicken at Rampurhat block in Birbhum district,which was the worst affected in the first wave of bird-flu attack in January.

Bombay High Court on Monday declared construction on 120 acres of land in Mumbai illegal. It could affect 1.5 lakh families. The High court said the construction, which had been carried out in Mulund, Borivli & Bhandup areas, was illegal as it had been done on forest land.
