A 27 years old woman producer of a news channel was shot dead in the wee hours on Monday at a posh area of south-west Delhi while she was on her way back from work. Seven killed in flyover collapse in Lucknow

Lucknow: At least 7 people have been killed & more than 20 injured when an under-construction flyover collapsed in Lucknow on Tuesday evening. The incident occurred on the NHAI flyover which is on the Lucknow-Faizabad highway. The flyover, located along the Lucknow-Faizabad Road, has been under construction for over two years.

RBI: “ICICI Bank has sufficient liquidity”

The RBI has on Tuesday assured that ICICI Bank has sufficient liquidity & the bank’s units abroad are “Well Capitalized”. The central bank also stated that ICICI Bank has arranged to give adequate cash to meet ATM withdrawal.
Earlier in the day, ICICI Bank asked its customers not to panic, saying rumours about the financial strength of the bank are baseless & malicious. The bank’s shares surged 4.5 per cent to Rs 515 levels in today’s afternoon trade.

Thane: At least one person has been killed & 50 others injured in communal clashes at Rabodi village in Thane District of Maharashtra over setting up of a “pandal” for the Navaratri festival around midnight. At least 40 people have been killed & 100 other injured in a major stampede in the “Chamunda Devi temple” at the start of “Navaratre” in Jodhpur on Tuesday. The reason for the stampede at the temple in a hillock in the famous Jodhpur Fort is yet to known.

7 killed in Malegaon blast, 70 injured

At least 7 people have been killed & more then 70 injured in a bomb blast in the busy Bhikhu Chowk area in Malegaon of Maharashtra on Monday. Eight others, including six policemen, were hurt in stone-pelting after the blast. Night curfew was imposed in the eastern part of the town after the blast and stone-pelting. Suspicious object found near Derabassi

A suspicious object was found at Bankerpura near Derabassi in Punjab near Ambala-Delhi national highway. A senior official of Police said, “The object looks like a big fire cracker used during Dussehra festival, though it could not be confirmed immediately. High Court to Tamil Nadu: Reconsider Nalini’s plea for early release

Youth shot dead in Noida

Noida: Some unidentified men shot dead a youth in Salarpur area of Noida on Wednesday. The victim identified as Babloo alias Bhim, 22 years old, was on his way to home on a bicycle when some miscreants shot at him. He succumbed to injuries on the way to hospital.

24 trains diverted, 10 cancelled due to flood in Yamuna

Delhi: At least 24 trains have been diverted & 10 trains cancelled due to flood in Yamuna River. Following an increase in the water level, the old Yamuna bridge was closed for rail & road traffic since 3 a.m.
The water-level of the river increased due to release of 4,00,000 cusecs of water into western Yamuna from Tajewala barrage. The river is flowing above the danger mark.

6 get death sentence in Khairlanji case

Mumbai: The Bhandara Sessions Court has on Wednesday awarded death sentence for six in the Khairlanji Dalit murder case in which four members of a family were killed in 2006. The district & sessions court also awarded life imprisonment for two others convicted in the case on September 15.
Those given death sentence were Sakru Binjewar, Shatrughan Dhande, Vishwanath Dhande, Ramu Dhande, Jagdish Mandlekar & Prabhakar Mandlekar while Gopal Binjewar & Shishpal Dhande were awarded life sentence.
