Neeraj Grover murder case: Court rejects plea of Marrayya

A Mumbai Court has on Friday turned down both the applications filed by Kannada actress Marrayya Monica Susayraj, co-accused in the Neeraj Grover murder case. Susayraj had sought bail from the Sessions Court after which her lawyer Niteen Pradhan filed two applications, one seeking a copy of her confessional statement & the other seeking to permit her to be present in court during the hearing of her bail application.

Two nabbed in connection with Thane Theatre blast

Two persons have been killed arrested in connection the thane theatre blast earlier this month that left seven people injured. They were arrested on Sunday late night. They are suspected to be part of a right wing organisation.
Seven people were injured in blast at the Gadkari Rangayatan Auditorium’s parking lot before the staging of the play “Amhi Pachpute” on June 4. Some Hindu organisations had protested against the play, alleging misrepresentation of mythological characters.

Kidney racket: Dr Amit Kumar & Jeevan taken to Mumbai

Dr. Amit Kumar, main accused in the kidney racket, & his brother Jeevan Kumar were on Sunday taken to Mumbai by Maharashtra Police in connection with a case registered against the duo in the metropolis. Metropolitan Magistrate of Marine Drive court had issued a production warrant against Dr Amit, Dr Jeevan & Dr Upender in 2005 on charges of removing the kidney of a person in Mumbai in 2005.

16 years old ruled cyber fraud gang in Mumbai

Police has arrested a 16 years old, Class X student Ajay, who was ruling cyber fraud gang from Mumbai. Ajay was picked up from Mumbai on Thursday & detained by the Gujarat police in a hacking case that left them baffled with its global spread. Saamana office attack: Bal Thackeray demanded Rane’s arrest

Bal Thackeray the chief of Shiv Sena has on Saturday demanded arrest of the Maharashtra revenue minister Narayan Rane, alleging that he hired goons to attack office of “Saamana”. Arrest warrant issued against Raj Thackeray

An arrest warrant has been issued against Raj Thackeray by a Jamshedpur court after he failed to appear before it in connection with a case of allegedly making provocative statements against members of a particular community.

Pilot arrested for airhostess suicide in Mumbai

The Mumbai Police has arrested a pilot with Indigo airlines in connection with the suicide of an airhostess, Sucheta Anand. An FIR was also registered some time ago after the 25 years old airhostesses’ parents alleged that her husband & in-laws used to torture her.
Sucheta Anand was found hanging in a five star hotel in Mumbai. Now, police say the pilot was the last person to see her alive. They had dinner together in her room in the hotel. ….

30 detained for attacking on “Saamana” office

At least 30 persons have been arrested in connection with the attack on the office of “Saamana”. The incident happened last night after Saamna carried a photograph of Rane clad in a saree on the front page.
A group of around 25 persons, allegedly owing allegiance to Maharashtra Revenue Minister Narayan Rane, pelted stones at the complex housing the papers of Saamana production unit & press, damaging the glass exterior.

Maharashtra State Board HSC results declared

The Maharashtra State Board results for HSC has been declared on Saturday at 11:00 am. This year a total of 11,39,697 students appeared for the HSC examination conducted in February/March. The pass percentage for the Class 12 (HSC) examination this year stands at 77.33 percent. In the Mumbai division, the pass percentage for the HSC examination is 80.24 percent. 18 people have been killed in different parts of Maharashtra as heavy rains lashed Maharashtra on Thursday. Four people were struck by lightning in Kolara & Bhorsabhorsi villages in Buldana district of eastern Maharashtra. Attack on “Loksatta” editor’s house

A group of around 70 people, calling themselves activists of the Shivsangram Sanghatana, attacked Kumar Ketkar, the editor of Marathi daily “Loksatta”, at his home in Thane on Thursday. Kumar Ketkar escaped unhurt.

A blast in the parking lot of a Gadkari Rangayatan theatre in Thane wounded five on Wednesday. The blast took place on Wednesday afternoon in the parking area of Gadkari Rangayatan theatre.

93 Mumbai riots: Warrant issued against cop

The Special riots court has on Saturday issued warrant against police inspector Madhav Khanolkar, who is a prime witness in the 1993 riot case against senior Shiv Sena leader Madhukar Sarpotdar.
The warrant was issued as Khanolkar failed to appear before the court at the last two hearings, despite summons served to him. He will have to appear before the court on June 6 now. He is the last witness to be examined in this case.

A Mumbai session court has on Monday overruled the previous order by a lower court & upheld Sajay Dutt & Manyata’s marriage. The lower court had earlier ruled that Manyata had not obtained a divorce from her first husband –Meeraj-ur-Rehman–& therefore could not marry Sanjay Dutt. Bollywood financier Jhamu Sugandh passed away

Well known Bollywood financier & producer Jhamu Susandh has passed away on Monday in Mumbai following cardiac arrest. Family members said that he was rushed to the Life Criticare Hospital in Juhu following breathing problems. He passed away a little later around noon.
Jhamu Sugandh had produced movies like Filhaal, Aks, Chachi 420 & Rangeela. His company Jhamu Sugandh Productions also produced non-commercial movies like Buddhadeb Dasgupta’s Kaalpurush & Earth.
