“Airtel” network down in Mumbai

Airtel users in Mumbai have been facing network problem since morning. According to Airtel, this network issue is the result of a short circuit in the Airtel building at Lower Parel. Airtel official said, “There has been a fire at Peninsula Chambers, Lower Parel, Mumbai, in the facility area of the building due to a short circuit in the power cables that belong to the power supplier. This has resulted in a temporary disruption in power supply, which has impacted ….

Major fire in Mumbai Mahalaxmi racecourse

A major fire has been broke out at the Mahalaxmi racecourse in central Mumbai on Thursday evening. Seven fire engines & eight water tankers have been rushed to the spot.
Fire broke out in the kitchen of a restaurant at the racecourse. There were no immediate reports of any casualties.

R R Patil: Maharashtra govt may ban Ram Rahim for a year

Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil has on Friday announced that the Maharashtra government is considering to ban Dera Sacha Sauda chief Baba Gurmeet Ram Rahim from entering the state for one year. The decision may be fuelled by Sikhs apprehension that Baba Ram Rahim will try to disrupt an event at Nanded to mark the 300th death anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh in October-November this year. Mumbai Serial killer Ravindra Kantrolle acquitted

Ravindra Kantrolle, serial killer, has been acquitted on Friday in one of the three murder cases he was facing. Sewri sessions court acquitted Kantrolle due to lack of evidence & observed that prosecution failed to prove the case against him.
He was arrested on January 14, 2007 after the a series of seemingly motiveless murders that took place in the city between December 2006 & January 2007.

Maharashtra Board SSC results declared

Maharashtra Board SSC results have been declared on Thursday. Gaurav Kulkarni of Satara’s New English School, Kolhapur division, stood first by securing 97.84 per cent in the SSC examinations held in Maharashtra.
The overall pass percentage this year stood at 86.33 per cent. The overall pass percentage of candidates in Pune division is 87.89 per cent while Kolhapur has 85.97 per cent, Amravati 87.37 per cent, Nagpur 78.84 per cent, Latur 97.94 per cent, Nashik 88.07, Aurangabad 89.45 per cent.

A Mumbai Court has on Friday turned down both the applications filed by Kannada actress Marrayya Monica Susayraj, co-accused in the Neeraj Grover murder case. Two nabbed in connection with Thane Theatre blast

Two persons have been killed arrested in connection the thane theatre blast earlier this month that left seven people injured. They were arrested on Sunday late night. They are suspected to be part of a right wing organisation.
Seven people were injured in blast at the Gadkari Rangayatan Auditorium’s parking lot before the staging of the play “Amhi Pachpute” on June 4. Some Hindu organisations had protested against the play, alleging misrepresentation of mythological characters.

Kidney racket: Dr Amit Kumar & Jeevan taken to Mumbai

Dr. Amit Kumar, main accused in the kidney racket, & his brother Jeevan Kumar were on Sunday taken to Mumbai by Maharashtra Police in connection with a case registered against the duo in the metropolis. Pilot arrested for airhostess suicide in Mumbai

The Mumbai Police has arrested a pilot with Indigo airlines in connection with the suicide of an airhostess, Sucheta Anand. An FIR was also registered some time ago after the 25 years old airhostesses’ parents alleged that her husband & in-laws used to torture her.

At least 30 persons have been arrested in connection with the attack on the office of “Saamana”. The incident happened last night after Saamna carried a photograph of Rane clad in a saree on the front page.

The Maharashtra State Board results for HSC has been declared on Saturday at 11:00 am. This year a total of 11,39,697 students appeared for the HSC examination conducted in February/March. 18 people have been killed in different parts of Maharashtra as heavy rains lashed Maharashtra on Thursday. Four people were struck by lightning in Kolara & Bhorsabhorsi villages in Buldana district of eastern Maharashtra. A group of around 70 people, calling themselves activists of the Shivsangram Sanghatana, attacked Kumar Ketkar, the editor of Marathi daily “Loksatta”, at his home in Thane on Thursday. Kumar Ketkar escaped unhurt.

Blast in Thane Theatre injured five

A blast in the parking lot of a Gadkari Rangayatan theatre in Thane wounded five on Wednesday. The blast took place on Wednesday afternoon in the parking area of Gadkari Rangayatan theatre.
