Quasim is suspected to be a smuggler of sandalwood. It is to be noted that Dey was covering underworld for over 2 decades and was the editor (Special Investigation) of Mid-Day. He was shot dead on June 11.

Following killing of Dey, media persons have hold protest rallies in Mumbai. Maharashtra CM Prithviraj Chavan told reporters that some developments have taken place in Dey’s murder case and very soon vital breakthrough is expected in this front.

The Maharashtra state council of examinations has declared their diploma in teacher education (DEd) examination results. The MSCE Ded 2010 examination was conducted by Maharashtra Directorate of Medical education and research (DMER) and Directorate of Technical Education.

Mumbai, Feb. 13 – Addressing the 15^th annual convocation of National institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE), former chairman of Atomic Energy Commission, Anil Kakodkar said, education method of the country should ideally provide a conductive setting for connecting the gap between research work and application technology.

If the environment is capable in making the activities smooth among research work and application technology, India can formulate global technologies out of the available savvy set inside the country, he remarked.

He said, “India has been making important contributions to the global knowledge pool for ages and this process continues even today.”

Mumbai, Feb. 11 — Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan ahead of his film ‘My Name Is Khan’ being released prays for peace and he said to the media that his integrity is “non-negotiable”.

‘My Name Is Khan’ is being released amid unprecedented security on Friday in Mumbai theatres.

Many single halls and multiplexes have canceled the screening of ‘My Name is Khan’ across Maharashtra bowing to the threat of Shiv Sena.

Presently Shah Rukh, 44-year-old, is in Berlin for the premiere of ‘My Name Is Khan’ along with co-star Kajol and director Karan Johar. Earlier SRK commented that he owes everything to Mumbai and loves “my country India, my family and freedom”. He also added that he hates “anyone or anything that threatens my country.”

He said, “I want to enjoy my film everywhere. I want to enjoy it within myself and to sickos who think this is for publicity..2 words Shut up!”

However, Khan is trying to close the matter by saying: “Anyone asks me about this issue anymore…they can read my Tweets. Now what happens with the release, the film, is the film’s fate. If my partners lose, so be it; if I lose so be it… ”

In the film Shah Rukh plays the role of an autistic Muslim Rizwan Khan and the plot is set in post 9/11 period.

Mumbai, Feb. 02 — Ashok Chavan, Maharashtra Chief Minister, rejected on Tuesday the criticism of Shiv Sena that the AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi had insulted 26/11 Mumbai attack martyrs by commenting in the terror attack Mumbai was saved by the NSG commandos.

He told to the reporters, “I fully endorse Rahul Gandhi’s stand that during the 26/11 attacks, people from all over the country fought to save Mumbai. When it comes to fighting for the nation, there is no issue of regionalism.”

Chief Minister also added further that Gandhi’s views focused on the unity of India. He said, “Mumbai is for all and the country is also for all. There is no discrimination. Every one should get equal opportunities. However, MNS and Shiv Sena are playing divisive politics over language and region.”

When the reporters asked Chavan on the comment of Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray about the insult to martyrs included Maharashtrians then replied saying, “Gandhi’s statement was not an insult to martyrs. Sena and MNS have no developmental issues that is why they are fighting on this.”

Mumabi, Feb. 01 — Home Minister P Chidambaram slams Shiv Sena’s controversial slogan “Mumbai for Marathis” on Monday saying that this type of “pernicious” thesis is to be rejected as Mumbai belongs to all of India.

Chidambaram said to the reporters, “We reject the thesis of Shiv Sena. Mumbai belongs to all of India and all Indians are free to live and work in Mumbai.”

Home Minister also added, “As a matter of policy, we reject the theses of the Shiv Sena and the MNS (Maharashtra Navnirman Sena). These are pernicious theses and they have to be rejected.”

He said that the government of Maharashtra was “competent” in handling such situation in the city after the Shiv Sena objected on Sunday to the view of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s (RSS) that Mumbai is for all Indians.

Home Minister mentioned further, “If the government of Maharashtra seeks our advice, we will advise them. But I am sure they are competent to manage the situation.”
