Modi’s Three Days Fast Begin Today

In a bid to promote peace, harmony and unity in his state, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi started his 3-day fast on Saturday. Modi announced that the fast is a “Sadbhavna Mission” which aims to promote peace, harmony and unity in the state. Modi’s first day fast will be attended by top BJP leaders and NDA allies such as L K Advani, Prakash Singh Badal, Sushma Swaraj, Arun Jaitley, S A Ramdas etc.

In an open letter, Modi said he wants blessings of people to overcome his weakness and difficulties and work more intensely for the development and progress of Gujarat. Modi said that the 2001 earthquakes and 2002 riots were appalling events which created a frightful atmosphere and those days were of intense suffering.

On the eve of his fast, Modi said that the constitution is supreme and as the CM of the state, anyone’s pain in the state his pain. The comments are being construed as his first expression of lament post Godhra riots which killed several people, most of which were Muslims.

MCI Approves 500 More Medical Seats For Gujarat

Gujarat has received sanction for 500 medical seats in 7 days time from the Medical Council Of India (MCI). It is to be noted that last Thursday it had received approval for 150 seats for Medical College in Sola and Adani Medical College in Bhuj. On Saturday, MCI approved 150 medical seats for a new medical college in Ahmedabad. 50 seats have been augmented in Medical College in Bhavnagar.

Commenting on the approval of 500 medical seats Jay Narayan Vyas, State Health Minister said that Gujarat in all probability will be the first state to get approval of 500 medical seats. He further said that the state is hoping for MCI’s approval of a new medical college at Gotri in Vadodara. He also said that they are getting offers from banks to open counters at admission centres where education loans can be obtained by candidates. Mr Vyas said that the state is ensuring that deserving candidate from Gujarat do not have to go to other states to get medical education.

RIL To Implement World Scale Polyester Projects In Dahej, Gujarat

Gujarat’s industrial development is set to a further leg up with Reliance Industries (RIL) saying that it has commenced execution of world-scale polyester projects in Gujarat in order to strengthen its position as the world’s largest producer of integrated polyester. A company statement said that RIL plans to set up a 2.3 million tonne of purified PTA plant at Dahej and the capacity of the plant will be increased by another 1.15 million tonnes at a later stage.

However, RIL did not give any figures about the investments involved in the projects and neither the deadline for the completion of the project. RIL said that projects are under various stages of implementation involving a wide range of things. The company further said that the capacity addition will further consolidate RIL’s position in the polyester sector.

However, it is anticipated that RIL might start the PTA plant at Dahej in the first quarter of 2013 and the second plant might be started after six or 12 months. The company’s statement also said that this is RIL’s biggest capacity expansion in the sector which is aimed to consolidate its position as the largest producer of integrated polyester. At the same time it will also consolidate India’s position as global manufacturing hub for textiles and fiber.

New Delhi: Amit Jethwa once an (Right to Information) RTI activist from Gujarat, murder has again brought up the obstacles in successfully implementing a legislation that meant to expose corruption happening in the government into the sharp focus.
The major hurdle that seems to be there over the issue of the RTI activists is the threat they are facing for their lives.

Amit Jethwa, was shot dead by some unknown assailants this Tuesday evening. He was in the process of exposing the nexus between the officials, politicians and mining mafia of Gujarat. Amit’s family is accusing a BJP MLA having a hand in the killing.

June 03 — Gujarat SSC Result 2010 was declared on Thursday and it is available on the official website of the Gujarat Secondary Education and Higher Secondary Board (GSEB). Below is the official website of GSEB. Just click on the link and you can get your class 10 result.

Just enter your six digit ‘Seat Number’ on the above given GSEB website and you will get the SSC Result 2010.

You can also get your Gujarat SSC Results 2010 through SMS. On your mobile just type ‘SSC’ and your seat number and send it to 50111.

On the official GSEB website the districtwise toppers list is also available.

GSEB is a government of Gujarat body and it is responsible for determining higher educational system in the state. The body conducts two main examinations which are as mentioned below:

The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) exam that is for class 10.
The Higher Secondary (School) Certificate (HSC) exam that is for class 12.

Gujarat University have declared results for BSc, Bcom and LLB examinations for 2010

The Gujarat University has declared their results for the Bsc, Bcom and LLB examinations for the year 2010. The overall pass percentage has been reported to be 79.89% for 3rd Year BSc while 50.78% for 1st Year BCom. For 3rd Year LLB exam, the overall pass percentage has been reported to be 75.23%.

The student will have to fill their seat number and then he will get the desired results.

May 20 — GSEB results 2010 for class 10 and 12 is scheduled to be announced on Thursday and candidates can check their results on the official website of Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board.

The HSC 12th result is also available through SMS. Candidates need to type HSC (space) Seat Number and send it to 50111.

GSEB has also declared the GUJCET 2010 results. It is the Gujarat Common Entrance Test 2010.

VNSGU Results 2010 Declared Today

Surat, May 5, 2010 – The Veer Narmad South Gujrat University (VNSGU) today declared the results of the Examination which were held in March 2010.

Candidates who appeared for the exams can check the results from the official website of VNSGU using their respective roll numbers. The official website of the university is not opening at this point due to the heavy traffic.
