Added security measures were called for because the government has reports that militant groups are roaming around near polling stations.

Officials stated that re-polling started from 7 am at all the thirty-four polling booths spread across Senapati, Churachandpur, Chandel, Ukhrul and Tamenglong and continue till 3 pm.

Re-poll was essential as there was disturbance by militant groups as well as irregularities during the Manipur assembly polls on 28^th January.

According to sources, this time there would be 3 – 4 layers of security arrangements to stop any kind of ill incidents. Intelligence sources reported that there were movements of extremist groups around the polling booths. Vote counting will take place on 6^th March.

Some prominent names, in today’s elections, are Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh, Th Debendra Singh, Laishram Nanda Kumar, Yumkham Erabot, Nimachiand Luwang (president of Manipur People’s Party) and L Chandramani.

Nduluisi Egadi was staying with some close associates near Auroville. When they came to know that police is after them, they fled from the place. A team including Sumu Banerjee and Nilkanta Roy, two inspectors, caught 32 year old Nigerian Nduluisi Egadi from Beach Road in Puducherry. The cops team tracked him via his mobile phone signals.

Later, Nduluisi was brought about before the Chief Judicial Magistrate, who granted a transit warrant to take him to Kolkata.

Disaster management group has released an avalanche warning for Tangdhar, Gurez, Khilanmarg, Uri, Chowkibal, Keran and Machil. People who live in these areas have been asked to leave their homes.

Local policemen from the state police have started the rescue efforts by removing snow from the roads of Srinagar and other places. Police have asked people to contact the nearby police station in case of emergency.

SFI, on the other hand, organized a rally to condemn the incident.

The snowfall was quite intense but joy did not last long as strong wind dispelled the cloud and soon the sky became clear. The minimum temperature was looming around 2 – 3 degrees Celsius. Darjeeling sky, however, remained clean. The last time when Darjeeling experienced snowfall was in 2006. Reports suggest that it is difficult to forecast heavy snowfall as the weather is changing daily.

Most tourists, who came here, never experienced snowfall before. A tourist from Kolkata told that this is what she was expecting and she was quite lucky to experience that. Some of the tourists are even ready to extend their stay in expectation of further snowfall in the coming days. Though the snowfall was light compared to previous occasions, yet it was enough to make the visitors happy.

The centre will be very close to the main forest. The tigers can loiter through the wild, but they cannot leave the centre as it will be fenced off with fifteen feet high iron bars. The work on outer fence is over.

Pradip Vyas, the director of Sunderban Biosphere Reserve stated that it will allow them to treat wounded tigers in the forest; they do not have to spend months at the zoo hospital in Alipore. The cats will have assured food supply, in this place, and it will help them to recover quite fast.

Once the forest department gets adequate fund, they will start working on the second phase. The inner fence will be made in such a way that neither the tigers will be able to enter the next enclosure nor they can swim across the nearby Herobhanga River to enter the villages. The rescue centre will also feature a watch tower to keep a watch on the cats.

Experts have welcomes this move as it will let the big cats in their home environment.
