Security in Delhi was beefed up on Monday after police received intelligence inputs about militant outfits planning terror strike in the national capital Delhi, economical capital Mumabi & in Lucknow also. Karnal Singh the Joint Commissioner of Police said, “We received an input that some militant outfits are planning to create terror in the national capital by targeting some prominent locations & based on that we have taken necessary security precautions”.

ULFA calls Assam Bandh on Tuesday

The ULFA has called a twelve hour “Assam Bandh” on Tuesday, 19 February to protest against the arrest of Lachit Bordoloi the People’s Consultive Group member. Arabindo Rajkhova the chairman of Ulfa said that the bandh was called to protest against the arrest of Borodoloi & several other “human rights” activists.
The outfit said the bandh call had also been given to protest against the “fake encounters by the security forces in which several innocent civilians have been killed”.

Life Term for Romesh in Kunjum murder case

The Patiala House court awarded life term to Romesh Sharma, alleged frontman of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, & five others for murdering his fashion designer girlfriend Kunjum Budhiraja nine years ago.
Judge S P Garg also imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 on Sharma & Rs 5,000 each on his nephew Surinder Mishra & Tejinder Virdi alias Dolly. Other accused Hemchand, Santram & Ramesh were fined Rs 1,000 each.

Sixteen ISI agents arrested

Sixteen suspected ISI agents, were arrested from Gorakhapur Express at Secunderabad railway station in Hyderabad on Sunday evening. They were travelling in Gorakhapur-Bangalore express (train no.2591), South Central Railway (SCR).

CBI submits Nandigram report

The CBI on Thursday submitted the report on the March 14, 2007 police firing at Nandigram which left 14 people dead to the registrar council of the Calcutta High Court.

Petrol prices would hike from today
