Jammu & Kashmir’s CM Ghulam Nabi Azad has resigned after losing the floor test. The Azad government was reduced to a minority after PDP withdrew support on June 28. Ahead of the confidence vote, Azad, along with state Congress president Saif-ud-din Soz, met Governor N N Vohra last night. The meeting lasted more than two hours.

Cricketer turned politician Navjot Singh Sidhu’s wife Navjot kaur has on Saturday attempted to commit suicide at her residence in Patiala. She has been admitted in Intensive care unit in Sadbhavna medical & heart hospital in Patiala. The doctors however said it is a case of food poisoning, a private news agency reported.

The ruling BJP in Karnataka got a boost on Saturday when two JD(S) & one Congress legislators quit their parties to join it. Earthquake struck Arunachal borders

An earthquake of magnitude 5.1 on the Richter Scale struck the Arunachal Pradesh border early on Saturday morning. The earthquake hit Eastern Xizang on the Arunachal borders at 03:05 a.m..
There were no immediate reports of any damage or casualty. The epicentre of this earthquake was located at a latitude of 29.4 degree North & a longitude of 96.4 degree East.

Major fire in Mumbai Mahalaxmi racecourse

A major fire has been broke out at the Mahalaxmi racecourse in central Mumbai on Thursday evening. Seven fire engines & eight water tankers have been rushed to the spot.
Fire broke out in the kitchen of a restaurant at the racecourse. There were no immediate reports of any casualties.

VHP calls Bharat bandh on July 3

Shribhagwan Verma alias Guddu Pandit, BSP MLA, has been arrested on Sunday for allegedly “abducting” a woman television reporter three days back. Haryana govt restricts Ram Rahim’s movement

The Haryana government has imposed an informal ban on the movement of Dera Sachcha Sauda Chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim outside the Dera Sacha Sauda campus in Sirsa. This comes a day after the Maharashtra government talked about its plan to ban the Dera chief’s entry into the state for about one year.

CBI: Rajkumar confesses to involvement in Aarushi’s murder

The Punjab Police has claimed to arrest three Pakistan-trained terrorists on Saturday with 34.5 kg of RDX explosive from Kaunke village in Jagraon. The Inspector General said that Amrik Singh, Daljit Singh & Sarvjit Singh alias Sokhu, all of them hailing from Moga, were working at the instance of one Surjit Singh Mahal of Jalandhar & intelligence agencies across the border. R R Patil: Maharashtra govt may ban Ram Rahim for a year

Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil has on Friday announced that the Maharashtra government is considering to ban Dera Sacha Sauda chief Baba Gurmeet Ram Rahim from entering the state for one year. The decision may be fuelled by Sikhs apprehension that Baba Ram Rahim will try to disrupt an event at Nanded to mark the 300th death anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh in October-November this year. CBI has on Friday arrested Rajkumar, Anita Durrani’s servant, in Aarushi-Hemraj murder case. Joint Director of CBI Arun Kumar has said that Rajkumar was subjected to lie-detector test, psychological assessment, brain mapping & narco-analysis tests at Forensic Sciences Laboratory, Gandhinagar in Gujarat from June 23 to June 26.

Ravindra Kantrolle, serial killer, has been acquitted on Friday in one of the three murder cases he was facing. Sewri sessions court acquitted Kantrolle due to lack of evidence & observed that prosecution failed to prove the case against him.

Maharashtra Board SSC results have been declared on Thursday. Gaurav Kulkarni of Satara’s New English School, Kolhapur division, stood first by securing 97.84 per cent in the SSC examinations held in Maharashtra.

Aarushi murder case: Rajesh Talwar’s bail petition hearing today

The Ghaziabad sessions court will hear Dr Rajesh Talwar’s bail plea application today. Rajesh Talwar is an accused in the murder of her 14 years old daughter Aarushi.
