An earthquake of magnitude 3.4 struck the parts of Delhi & Haryana experienced mild tremors of 3.4 magnitude at 23:09 pm on Thursday night. There was no immedite reports of any casualties.
The epicentre of this eathquake was in Sonepat in Haryana, about 40 km from Delhi at latitude 29.0 north & longitude 77.1 east.
The tremors were not unusual since Delhi lies in seismological zone IV. People in many high-rise buildings rushed out of their houses.

Chattrapal the kidnapper of Adobe executive’s son has been arrested on Wednesday, Police said today.
Chattrapal, the main accused in the kidnapping of former Adobe executive Naresh Gupta’s son Anant, who escaped from a court premises in February, has been arrested.
Chattrapal was arrested last night by a Special Operations Group team of Uttar Pradesh police from his home in Rabupura, his native town in the state.

A Truck & School bus has been collided with each other near Silaj village in Ahmedabad, in which 1 student killed & 18 students injured. According to a private channel Zee news the fourth standard student Atul Rathore has died at the spot.
The bus was of Delhi public School (DPS) of Ahmedabad. The injured were taken to the nearby hospital in Ahmedabad. Three are said to be critical.

A multi-storey underconstruction building has been collapsed on Brahampuri road in Seelampur in north east Delhi on Saturday. Building was collapsed at 7:15 am (IST), in which 7 killed & several others injured.
At least 20 people were critically injured when the building in New Usmanpur locality collapsed.
The injured were shifted to GTB hospital. Six of the injured succumbed to their injuries at the hospital.

Akash alias Appu who was kidnapped from Delhi has been rescued on Thursday. Eight years old Akash, who was kidnapped for ransom last week from Delhi, was rescued by the police from Bihar’s Farbisganj in Araria district district on Thursday.
A senior official of Police said Akash, who was kidnapped from Delhi’s Okhla locality March 21, was rescued, about 350 km from the state capital here. Akash was kidnapped on his way to school.

The Supreme Court on Tuesday ordered to constitute a five-member special investigation team to re-investigate the post-Godhra communal riots. The SC said it would submit its report within three months.

Rajbir Singh, ACP of Delhi Police special Operations Squad on Monday night was shot dead by a propery dealer on the city outskirts. The “encounter specialist” was murdered in Gurgaon.

A number of Tibetans on Monday staged a protest in New Delhiy against alleged Chinese atrocities in Tibet. With black bands tied around their heads, the protestors observed “Black Day” by raising 15 black flags, symbolising 15 days of “brutal repression” by the Chinese in Tibet.

A blaze has been broken out in the Income Tax building in Central Delhi on Monday morning. The blaze started at around 11 a.m. in the second floor of the building.
Five fire tenders doused the blaze in 15 minutes. The cause of the fire is yet to be known. There were no reports of any casualties.

The government of Delhi on Tuesday ruled out interim relief to its employees & pensioners, pending implementation of the Sixth Pay Commission report.
Minister of State for Finance P K Bansal said in Rajya Sabha today, “No proposal is under consideration for grant of interim relief to Central Government employees & pensioners”.

Train had crushed two young boys to death who were playing near railway tracks in Seelampur. The boys, 8 years old & 10 years, were yet to be identified. The police said the incident took place around 2 pm on Sunday.
An official said, “Both had severe head injuries & they suffered excessive blood loss”.

Two women named as Deepika 19 years old & Nisha 20 years old who were on scooty, were hit by a tempo from behind on an intersection near Vaishno Mata Mandir at Haridas Marg. When the duo fell from their two-wheeler, a speeding Blueline bus, coming from other side, allegedly ran over Deepika’s leg.

The Government has warned the Delhi & Mumbai Police of possible terrorists attacks at important locations in the cities. In a letter to the Delhi Police, the Home Ministry said that terrorists could target important places such as the CBI headquarters or the IIT campus in the near future.
