Akhilesh Das , Congress MP from Uttar Pradesh has submitted his resignation on Tuesday from Rajya Sabha saying he had “no faith” in the party. He also resigned from the primary membership of the Congress Party.

Senior citizens accidentally locked up during sealing by MCD

Two senior citizens were accidentally locked up by officials of MCD, who were sealing their property in West Delhi on Monday.
A senior official of MCD said that the incident took place in Tilak Nagar area. The two were rescued a couple of hours later.
The official blamed “negligence” by the concerned MCD team for the incident & said necessary action would be taken against them.

The Supreme Court has dismissed a petetion on Monday which was filed by six Indraprashtha Apollo Hospital doctors & five others seeking quashing of the criminal proceedings launched against them in the Rahul Mahajan drug abuse case. Marathi newsreader Data Kulkarni passed away

Marathi newsreader Data Kulkarni has passed away on Sunday. Datta Kulkarni, whose voice was familiar all over Masharashtra in yesteryears as reader of Marathi news was passed away in new Delhi.
He was 82 years old. Dattatreya Ramchandra Kulkarni was the head of Marathi news unit at All India Radio, Delhi for 30 long years. He retired from service 23 years ago.

At least 142 prisoners are still detained under TADA Act across India with Maharashtra topping the list with 50 such detentions.

Sikand murder: Delhi court awarded life term to Ex-army officer

A Delhi court awarded life term to ex-army officer SJ Choudhary for killing businessman Krishan Sikand in a parcel bomb explosion 26 years ago.
District Judge Mamta Sehgal said, pronouncing the sentence in a jam-packed courtroom, “I sentence you to life term”. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on Choudhary.

Delhi High Court has granted bail to arms dealer Suresh Nanda, his son Sanjeev & two others on Tuesday who allegedly manipulated evidence in a case of alleged kickbacks in the Barak missile deal.

Delhi’s Municipal Corporation will start the sealing drive on non-notified roads from today. The civic body has completed all preparations to begin the drive as the deadline for traders operating on such stretches to shut their shops ended on Sunday.

At least 60 Tibetans on Wednesday attempted to storm the Chinese embassy in New Delhi & clashed with security personnel. Supreme court will hear Sethusamudram issue today

The Supreme Court will hear the petition against the Sethusamudram project today.
Chief Justice K G Balakrishnan said that on April 15 it will further decide the date for further hearing on the matter.
On February 29, the Centre had filed a fresh affidavit in the apex court on the project seeking vacation of its interim orders putting on hold any damage to “Ram Setu”.

Chinese security officials to review Olympic torch security in Delhi
