Chiara Lubich the founder & perpetually smiling symbol of the Focolare movement has died on Friday in her room near the Focolare headquarters in Rocca di Papa, south of Rome.

5.7 magnitude Earthquake in Mexico

An earthquake of magnitude 5.7 struck hilly southern Mexican state of Chiapas. The earthquake was struck at 5:01 pm local time on Thursday & 4:31 am Friday. The centre of this earthquake was at offshore which is 78 km southwest of the city of Mapastepec in Chiapas state.
An official said that there were no reports of damage. A magnitude 5.7 earthquake usually causes only minor damage to buildings.

Paulos Faraj Raho a Chaldean Catholic archbishop who was kidnapped in February in northern Iraq has been found dead. The body of Paulos Faraj Rahho, the archbishop of Mosul, kidnapped on February 29, was found near the northern city. It was unclear if he died of natural causes or was killed.

Decision to call-off the strike came after assurance from the Aviation Ministry to check viability of old airport at Hyderabad. A concert pianists from New Zealand, Tessa Birnie, has died on Thursday in Sydney. He was 73 years old. Tessa Birnie was born in Ashburton in 1934.
She studied music in Wellington & made her debut as a concert pianist in Paris in 1960. She was also awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia. Birnie was described as “the marathon woman of the keyboard”.

A suicide car bomber targeted a vehicle near Kabul`s airport on Thursday in which 2 killed & several injured.

Earthquake in Turkish, Istanbul

An earthquake of magnitude 4.8 hits a small Turkish town outside Istanbul on Wednesday but no injuries or damage were immediately reported.
The earthquake occurred at 8:53 pm local time. The epicente of this earthquake was in the town of Cinarcik about 50 kilometres across the Sea of Marmara, from Istanbul. The earthquake was felt in Istanbul & other nearby towns.
Cinarcik was among areas devastated when two earthquakes hit northwestern Turkey in 1999, killing about 18,000 people.

A suicide car bomber on Monday rammed into a NATO-led convoy in Afghanistan’s southern city of Kandahar. An official said that one vehicle was destroyed in the attack, which targeted Canadian troops.
