Dawood’s aide Karimulla detained

The Mumbai Police has detained Karimulla Khan Osan Khan, an accused in 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case who was on the run for the last 15 years. Khan, an accomplice of gangster Dawood Ibrahim, was arrested from suburban Nalasopara area.
Khan was allegedly involved in landing of RDX on the Raigad coast & its transport to Mumbai prior to the blasts which killed 273 people & injured over 700. He has been absconding since then, but returned to India in 2006. ….

Earthquake in Yunnan Province killed 3

An earthquake of magnitude 5.9 struck China’s Yunnan Province in which 3 people have been killed & many injured on Thursday. According to a China View report, two quakes were recorded in Yingjiang, a county on the Sino-Myanmar border: one 4.9-magnitude event at 8:20 p.m. & another 5.9-magnitude quake four minutes later.

Amarnath Row: Attack on Senior Congress leader, Police Station in Jammu

The activists of Pro-shrine have on Thursday attacked the police station and torched vehicles in Jammu district’s Bhagwati Nagar. The activists have attacked Senior Congress leader & former deputy chief minister Mangat Ram Sharma.

Suicide blasts killed 11 in Pakistan

At least 11 people have been killed in many injured in two suicide blasts outside Pakistan’s main arms factory in Islamabad on Thursday. The blasts targeted the factory in the northern town of Taxila, near the capital Islamabad.
Two men apparently blew themselves up outside the factory during a shift change.

Sushil Kumar won bronze medal in men’s 66kg freestyle category at the Beijing Olympics in Beijing on Wednesday. Heavy Rains in Varanasi killed 8

Earthquake struck China-Myanmar border

An earthquake of magnitude 5.3 struck the border between China & Myanmar on Wednesday. The tremor struck at 5:35 am local time. There were no immediate reports of any casualties or damage.
The epicentre of this earthquake was about 224 kilometres from the city of Dali in southwest China & 65 kilometres from Myitkyina in Myanmar. The depth of the earthquake was about eight kilometres.

11 killed as school bus fell into river in Mangalore

At least 11 people, including seven children, have been killed & 20 others missing when the bus they travelling was skidded off a bridge & fell into Palguni river near Gurupura, about 15 kms away from Manglore. While six children were rescued, search was on for other passengers.
