Amit Deshmukh the son of Vilasrao Deshmukh Chief Minister of Maharashtra on Thursday married Aditi Pratap Ghorpade a TV actress. The ‘baarat’ of the Amit Deshmukh saw bigwigs from politics, business & entertainment industry in attendance even as the groom’s younger brother & actor Ritesh Deshmukh danced on the tunes of dhols and nagadas.

Deshmukh also invites President Pratibha Patil, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh & Congress chief Sonia Gandhi & other dignitaries for the wedding. Amit is Deshmukh’s political manager in his Latur constituency in Marathwada region & is chairman of a cooperative sugar factory which has come up near another set up by his father in 1980s.

Aditi is the daughter of Bangalore-based businessman Pratap Ghorpade who belongs to a family of Marathas who settled in the South centuries ago.
