UP Migrant killed by Marathi Youth in Mumbai Local Train

Dharmadev, a 25 years old migrant laborer from Faizabad, Uttar Prdesh, was beaten to death by a group of around 10 Marathi people in a local train in Mumbai. Dharmadev was travelling with three other laborers in a local train from Khopoli to Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST) station.

According to Dharmadev Rai’s friends, the Marathi speaking people beat up Rai & his friends after learning that they were from Uttar Pradesh. Rai was rushed to the hospital, where he was declared brought dead. His friend is being treated in the hospital. The post-mortem report revealed that the victim died due to a punctured liver. The sketches of the assailants are also being drawn up.

Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mayawati has written to the home ministry and has demanded the Centre’s intervention in the case. She has also written to Maharashtra chief minister Vilasrao Deshmukh on the lynching.
