ULFA calls Assam Bandh on Tuesday
The ULFA has called a twelve hour “Assam Bandh” on Tuesday, 19 February to protest against the arrest of Lachit Bordoloi the People’s Consultive Group member. Arabindo Rajkhova the chairman of Ulfa said that the bandh was called to protest against the arrest of Borodoloi & several other “human rights” activists.
The outfit said the bandh call had also been given to protest against the “fake encounters by the security forces in which several innocent civilians have been killed”.
Bordoloi was arrested on 11 February in connection with the alleged ULFA plan to hijack an aircraft. Three others Suman Dutta, Khagen Talukar & Pradip Gogoi were also arrested for their alleged links with the ULFA.
