Taslima Nasreen
Taslima Nasreen a Bangladeshi writer’s visa to stay in India, which expires in four days, would be extended. The 45 years old author Taslima Nasreen is likely to get the extension of stay beyond February 17 when her six-month visa expires. A decision is expected to be announced soon.
The visa of Taslima Nasreen, who has been living in India for the last four years because of threat to her life back home, was last extended in August, 2007.
While there had been no problem in extending her visa on previous occasions, this time it is slightly tricky for the Centre in view of demands by radical Muslim groups that she be thrown out of the country.
