Taj Mahotsav
The Taj Mahotsav will begin on Monday at Shilpgram near the Taj Mahal. This ten-day long Mahotsav is organised to take people back to the Mughal era with a culmination of art, crts, cuisine, music, dance, which highlights the rich culture & tradition of the historic city.
Folk music, dance, classical dance, camel race, local games & food festival will be part of the mahotsav which will be performed by folk artists accumulating there from different states of India.
Wood carvings from Saharanpur, handmade carpets of Badohi, the Chikan work of Lucknow, the silk of Banares, beautiful Sambalpuri sari & Applique handicrafts from Orissa are likely to dominate event.
The theme of this year’s festival is ‘Vasudhaiv Kutumbakam’ which means ‘one world one family’ symbolising cultural unity. A British band, a Russian ballet troupe & a large number of Bollywood artistes will be the main attractions.
