Sydney Herald:Harbhajan in hot water again,up to his armpits

Spinner Bowler of India cricket team Harbhajan Singh is in controversy once again. The Australia newspapers Sydney Herald & Brisbane Times said, “Harbhajan in hot water again, up to his armpits”. According to Sydney Morning Herald, Harbhajan who has been subjected to continuous taunts from Aussie spectators through the triseries, made monkey gestures at the SCG crowd on Sunday, scratching his armpits with both hands & spitting in the direction of mocking spectators.

The Indian team management denied he made such gestures. Match referee Jeff Crowe will investigate about this. A spectator said Harbhajan spat back towards the Sydney Cricket Ground crowd after they called him “a wanker”.

Craig Woodbury, a spectator in the Bill O’Reilly stand said,”He definitely made the monkey gestures & he spat towards us. It was a bit disgraceful really, especially after what happened here in the Test match. There are a lot of young people sitting here & it was inappropriate. He is a role model to a lot of people. If he wants respect he has to treat others with respect. He is always going to cop it from the crowd but he is a professional sportsman and he has got to expect that”. But International Cricket Council (ICC) on Monday cleared Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh of making racial gestures against the crowd in Cricket ground at Sydney.

The ICC said that no action would be taken against the Indian as there was lack of evidence against him. This would ensure that the players would simply concentrate on the second final on Wednesday & avoid unnecessary tension.
