Supreme Court refuses bail to Manu Sharma in Jessica murder case
The Supreme Court has dismissed the bail plea of Manu Sharma who was sentenced life imprisonment in the Jessica Lall murder case on Monday.
A bench headed by Justice C K Thakker said, “No case for suspension of sentence & grant of bail is made out”. The court said the appeal against the conviction is already admitted & likely to be heard within a reasonable time.
Manu was convicted & sentenced to life imprisonment by the Delhi High Court which had set aside the trial court verdict acquitting him in the case. Model Jessica Lall was shot dead here on the intervening night of April 29-30, 1999 at the Qutub Colonade restaurant owned by socialite Bina Ramani.
