Stella Bruce alias Ram Mohan a Tamil writer died on Saturday after he committed suicide in his residence at Kodambakkam, Chennai. He was 67 years old. It was apparently following the recent death of his wife, sources close to him said. Stella Bruce was a force to reckon with in Tamil literature. He had written a series of short stories, novels & articles for various magazines. The writer had been living alone in United India Colony after his wife’s death.

On Saturday morning, the servant maid at his house opened his room & find the body of the writer hanging from a ceiling fan. Police have registered a case & sent the body for postmortem. Stella Bruce left a suicide note in which he had stated that he chose to commit suicide as he could not get over his wife’s death.
