Sourav Ganguly & Shane Warne fined 10 percent of their match fee
Kolkata Knight Riders captain Sourav Ganguly & Rajasthan Royals skipper Shane Warne, both have been fined 10 per cent of their match fee for showing dissent on the field during their IPL encounter against Rajasthan Royals.
Sourav Ganguly has been charged under Level 1 offence under the ICC’s code of conduct. Shane Warne found himself in the dock for public criticism and has been charged under clause 1.7 of ICC’s Code of Conduct. Umpire Pratap Kumar was also suspended for a match for referring Ganguly decision to the third umpire.
The former Indian captain had asked for a third umpire referral on his catch that Graeme Smith took during the match, which Rajasthan Royals won by 45 runs. After the match Warne lashed out at Sourav Ganguly, saying he would lodge a complaint against him for resorting to time-wasting tactics during the match & refusing to accept the fielder’s word on a “clean catch”.
