Sonia Gandhi the president of Congress will address a farmers’ rally at Karaikudi in Sivaganga district the home constituency of Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram, on 5 April.

TNCC president M. Krishnaswamy said, “Party functionaries have been asked to work for making the occasion a grand one’.

He also said that arrangements were being made to accord a grand reception to the UPA Chairperson, who will also address a women’s rally.

Among others, the meeting resolved to invite party general secretary Rahul Gandhi for a tour of the state with a view to strengthening the party.
