Sohrabuddin case: Accused DIG to undergo narco test

Two of 13 accused in the Sohrabuddin fake encounter case will undergo Narco test on Monday.
Those who will be subjected to the narco test include former DIG D G Vanzara & his deputy Rajkumar Pandyan. An additional sessions judge in Ahmedabad has granted the CID custody of the two officers from May 5 to 9 for conducting the test at the FSL in Gandhinagar.

The two were part of an alleged operation in which Sohrabudin had been killed on November 26, 2005. The fake encounter came to light when brother of Sohrabudin had approached the apex court alleging that his brother & sister-in-law Kausar Bi had been killed by the Gujarat police.

The apex court had ordered the CID to carry out a probe in the fake encounter case. A report submitted by IG Geeta Johri had indicated that the encounter was indeed fake & also Kausar Bi had been killed on November 28, 2005 by the ATS officials to destroy main witness to the killing of Sohrabudin.
