Shia religious leader Aga Khan will meet President Pratibha Patil today
Aga Khan, the Religious leader of Shia Islami Muslims will meet President Pratibha Patil in New Delhi in the afternoon on Tuesday. Later, the Aga Khan will meet Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader L K Advani. On Monday, Aga Khan called on Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh & Congress President Sonia Gandhi. He held confabulations with Manmohan Singh & Sonia Gandhi & also met veteran Congress leader Karan Singh.
During his eight-day visit to India, the Aga Khan will also visit Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat & Maharashtra to participate in programmes being organised in connection with the Ismaili community’s commemoration of his Golden Jubilee, the Aga Khan’s 50th year as Imam of the community. The Aga Khan will depart for Dhaka from Mumbai on May 19.
The Aga Khan is the founder & chairman of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) working to improve living conditions & opportunities of people in sub-Sahara Africa, Central & South Asia & West Asia.
