Seven killed in flyover collapse in Lucknow

Lucknow: At least 7 people have been killed & more than 20 injured when an under-construction flyover collapsed in Lucknow on Tuesday evening. The incident occurred on the NHAI flyover which is on the Lucknow-Faizabad highway. The flyover, located along the Lucknow-Faizabad Road, has been under construction for over two years.

Chaos prevailed in the Chinhat area of Lucknow where the flyover is located as hundreds of angry residents gathered & staged a demonstration. At least 4-5 cars & some scooters & bicycles crushed under the bridge. The injured were taken to nearby hospitals. Five cranes were brought in to rescue those trapped under the debris.
