SBI officers to go on strike from today

The All India State Bank Officer Federation (AISBOF) has called for a country-wide indefinite strike starting from Monday. All the officers working in over 14,000 offices of State Bank of India & 80,000-odd associate bank offices will observe indefinite strike with effect from October 20 in order to resolve long pending issues of improvements in pension scheme & implementation of various understandings reached with the federation from 2005.

AISBOF is also opposing the proposal to merge associate banks with SBI. The federation has already served a strike notice to the management on September 5, 2008.
