Dr. Raghuram G. Rajan, Professor of Finance, University of Chicago has been appointed Honorary Economic Adviser to the India’s Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Raghuram Rajan will hold the rank & status of Secretary to the Government of India.
Dr. Rajan is presently economics professor at University of Chicago. He served as chief economist at the IMF between 2003 & 2006. This is a new post that have been created & PM seems to adding new blood with the financial crisis.
