A time bomb has been recovered by Police on Sunday from a slum in Siliguri. Police recovered time bomb & a pack of explosive substances also from the slum, ten days after a bomb went off killing three persons in this city.

A senior official of Police said that the police recovered the bomb, fitted with a timer, from a room along with the packet at Gurung Bustee during a raid at around 1 am. While three women tenants, staying in the room for past three months, could not be traced, a man also living at the same place was arrested.

The bomb disposal squad took away the explosives & the packet to a desolate spot, he said, adding the nature of the explosives inside the pack was not known. The official said, “We are issuing verification forms for tenants as well as asking people to keep close tab on newcomers in a locality”.
