Parkash Singh Badal demands arrest of Gurmeet Ram Rahim
Parkash Singh Badal,the Chief Minister of Punjab, has on Saturday demanded the arrest of Gurmeet Ram Rahim from the Maharashtra government over the killing of one member of sikh community by his security guard on Friday in Mulund of Mumbai.
Badal said that he talked to Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh & also the State Director General of Police about the incident & conveyed his concern over the incident, he was talking to newsmen at Golden temple.
Balkar Singh, 50 years old, was killed when members of the Dera Chief’s security convoy fired at the protestors in a mall of Mulund on Friday evening. The Sikh community has said that that the cremation of Balkar would not take place unless Baba Ram Rahim is arrested.
Several Sikh organizations have been staging protest in Mumbai, Patiala, Ludhiana against the Dera Chief and demanded his arrest. A high alert has been sounded in Punjab and Haryana following the incident.
