Pak PM: Sarabjit Singh should be pardoned
Yousuf Raza Gilani the Prime Minister of Pakistan has advised President Pervez Musharraf to pardon Indian death row inmate Sarabjit Singh after reviewing his case.
Yousuf Raza Gilani said in his statement, “I have advised the president that he should stop Sarabjit’s execution & it should be reviewed by the ministries of Interior, Foreign Affairs, Law & Justice & Human Rights”.
Sarabjit Singh was sentenced to death in 1991 for his alleged involvement in four bomb blasts in Lahore & Multan that killed 14 people. His family denies he is a spy as claimed by Pakistan & insists he accidentally strayed into Pakistani territory.
