No clean chit to Gurmeet Ram Rahim in Mulund firing case yet

Police has on Tuesday said that there is no immediate possibility of giving clean chit to the Dera Sachcha Sauda chief Ram Rahim in the murder of Sikh who was gunned down by his private security guard on last Friday.

Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Rakesh Maria said, “Our investigations are still on & therefore, there is no immediate likelihood of giving Ram Rahim a clean chit. We are trying to find out what had happened that evening & are reconstructing the sequence of events. We have a copy of the footage of the incident, which was aired by the channels on the day”.

Balkar Singh was killed after a security guard in the Dera chief’s motorcade allegedly shot at him outside a mall in suburban Mulund on Friday evening. Rakesh Maria said that the police is right now reconstructing the exact sequence of events & statements of six persons have been recorded for the purpose.

Meanwhile, Balkar Singh’s funeral took place peacefully in suburban Mulund on Monday. Balkar Singh & his friend got into a tiff with the spiritual guru’s staff while the latter was shopping inside the mall as they were not allowed entry into a shop. Later, when Ram Rahim Singh left the mall in a motorcade, the duo’s car happened to come near it after which some of the escort staff got down from their jeeps armed with sticks. They allegedly broke the windshield of Thakur’s car & the firing occurred during the melee.
