Navjot Singh Sidhu arrested
Navjot Singh Sidhu, politicain & a former cricket player, has been arrested on Monday in Chandigarh during a protest, a private news channel reported. Najot Singh Sidhu with his supporters were protesting against price rises. Navjot Singh Siddhu’s protest rally took a violent turn when protestors had a scuffle with the police. Sidhu, who led the protest later, courted his arrest with other protestors.
The police had to resort to lathicharge & use water canon to disperse the protestors who were voicing their concerns against price rise. Sidhu, who led the protest, was also caught in the action between the police & protestors. The protestors tried to break the police cordon but the force retaliated with cane charge & water cannons. In the melee, the turbans worn by Sidhu & some other Sikh protestors fell off.
