Munnabhai will ride on SP ticket to become Mantribhai

by Sunil Sonkar

Turning to be politician, Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt announced on Friday that he will contest Lok Sabha election from Lucknow on Samajwadi Party ticket. He said that SP general secretary Amar Singh is like an elder brother to him. Adding more, he also said that if Navjot Singh Sidhu can contest election then why can’t he.

“Priya has denied having said anything against me. Even if she has said something against me, I forgive her as she is my kid sister,” Sanjay said upon the earlier report that Priya has objected him contesting elections on a SP ticket saying that the Dutt have Congress family.

Screen famous Munnabhai’s candidature for the Lok Sabha poll was named by the party on January 8. SP has moved to court to seek permission on his contest because he has been booked under Arms Act and is currently out on bail.

To the press conference Amar Singh said that Dutt is a UN Ambassador against malnutrition and hence no one should doubt his credentials. Singh said, “There is no legal hurdle in Sanjay’s contesting the polls.” He also adds that if the congress wants to field him, he will be obliged on Sonia’s request to give Sanjay to them.

Lucknow seat is prestigious because former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee represented it.
