MNS calls for Mumbai bandh

The sources said that the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena has called for a Mumbai bandh after police indicated that the party chief Raj Thackeray is likely to be arrested today for making aggravating statements against north Indians.
MNS activists were seen taking to streets at several places against the possible arrest of Raj Thackeray. Security was today beefed up at the house of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray & all entrances barricaded ahead of his possible arrest. The bandh call is being seen as a pressure tactics from the party.
The MNS has also made it clear that Raj Thackeray will not seek anticipatory bail. Police on Monday gave an indication that Raj Thackeray and Abu Asim Azmi SP leader will be arrested for making provocative statements, which resulted in incidents of violence across the city last week.
K. L. Prasad Joint Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) told sources, “The cases have been
registered on the basis of certain evidence and arrest is mandatory”. In latest reports Raj Thackrey’s thugs have attacked on the shops of North-Indians in Nasik & also attacked on the buses.
