30th May, 2012, Srinagar: On Wednesday, 7 CRPF personnel were injured and one of them was very critically injured after 2 militants came on a motorcycle and opened fire at the CRPF personnel at Khanyar.
According to reports, the CRPF jawans of the 82nd Battalion were getting out from their headquarters for law and order obligation at about 7.15 a.m. when the militants came and started firing. A senior official told that 7 security personnel were hurt in that attack at the Victory Crossing which is near Khanyar. One jawan was hit on his chest while others suffered limb injuries.
The injured personnel were taken to the SKIMS Hospital in Soura. The doctors told that one of the jawans was very critical. According to sources, the rider of that motorcycle had a helmet and the pillion’s face was fully covered with musk.
Till now, no militant group has taken responsibility for the attack. Search operation has already been started.
