Pranab Mukherjee, leader of Congress, said yesterday that Trinamool Congress supreme Mamata Banerjee can be the next chief minister of West Bengal.
Pranab Mukherjee, the West Bengal state Congress president, said this in an interview to a private news channel. He said that it was possible that Mamata Banerjee may emerge as the next CM of WB after the electoral rout of the Left after three decades.
He added, “We (the Congress) have no problems with that (Banerjee as chief minister),” Pranab said, when asked what he thought of Banerjee becoming chief minister.”
When Mr. Mukherjee was asked if she would make a good head of government given her “difficult” personality then he said: “I don’t want to make judgments. But after all, position brings responsibility.”
He even said that according to him Ms. Banerjee is not anti-industrialization.
On Singur and Nandigram issues he said that these two places became political issues. He added that Mamata Banerjee initiated lots of development projects when she was the railway minister.
May I like to ask Mr. Pranab Mukherjee that he has told that Miss Banerjee is not against Industrialisation if it is so then when she was commented against him when Sri Mukherjee was inaugrating the 2nd Metro Fed Corridor what will be the answer ? Mr. Mukherjee has told several times that Industry can not be done in the sky then when due to Miss Banerjee the Nano has to be shifted from Singur then what will be his comment about this ? Why Miss Banerjee went to Nandigram ? Why she and her party members were not allowed to establish new Katwa electrification ? Why Miss Banerjee and her party could not allow to expand NH 34 ? May I like to ask Mr. Mukherjee when Miss Banerjee done Railway Line with the help of WB State Govt. and most probably morethan three thousand acre land was acquired at that time how much money was given to the farmers ? Is the land was barralled ? Why Mr. Mukherjee is not telling that present State Govt. has done many developments in west Bengal ? When Govt. has selected Nayachar for Chemical hub (SEZ) then Miss Banerjee & her party opposed that what will be his comments ? Nayachar is not a farming land then why oppossing for chemical hub? Why Mr. Mukherjee is not telling that due to Left Front there are so many programmes were taken by Central Govt. during last LS with the help of Left Party ? Lastly with due respect I request Mr. Mukherjee to speak true things about WB & also the role of Left Party . People can fool one’s but not all times.
