Mahendra Singh Tikait farmer leader has been released on bail on wednesday. Mahendra Singh Tikait was arrested on Wedensday at his son’s house in Muzaffarnagar on Wednesday. He was arrested for his alleged castiest remarks against Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati but now he got bail for RS 20,000.
Earlier, Tikait said that his castiest remarks against Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati were “a mistake” & that he would surrender. Tikait said, “I consider this is a mistake. It was a slip of the tongue. It is human to commit a mistake”.
Tikait also said, “It was a slip of tongue & I used wrong words. She is like my daughter. I am ready to withdraw my remarks. We don’t want any violence”.
The BKU leader, who reached his son Rakesh’s house in the George Colony area Muzaffarnagar along with a cavalcade of around 15 vehicles, said he was complying with the decision of the Mahapanchayat that he should give up before the authorities.
Mahendra Singh Tikait said, “I was always willing to get arrested but the public resented it & hence I complied with their sentiments”.
