Long power cuts continue in Punjab
The life of people in Punjab becomes miserable as Long power cuts are continue in the state. The shortage of 231 lakh units per day has forced the PSEB to resort to power cuts in the state from 6 to 8 hours every day. Patiala, Chandigarh & many other cities are facing unannounced cuts daily. The daily demand for power has touched 1711 lakh units per day against availability of 1479 lakh units from all sources.
PSEB is getting 452 lakh units from its thermal power stations & 154 lakh units from hydel units. PSEB over drew 100 lakh units from the northern grid. PSEB was supposed to draw 773 lakh units but it drew 873 lakh units.
