Life term awarded to former Bihar Minister, son for murder
Aditya Singh, former Bihar minister & his son have been sentenced life imprisonment by a Nawada court
in connection with an eight years old murder case. Vijay Shanker Pathak, Additional District & Sessions Judge, who had on May 30 convicted Singh & his son Suman of the murder of a brick kiln manager Ashok Singh, sentenced them to life imprisonment & imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 each.
The father-son duo was alleged to have shot dead Ashok Singh & injured a clerk Ratan Singh at Gausa village in Nawada district on February 26, 2000. An FIR was lodged with Narhat police station. Aditya Singh, who was then minister of state for animal husbandry in the Rabri Devi government, was elected to the legislative assembly six times from Hisua seat in Nawada district in the past on Congress ticket & also as an Independent.
