Kidney racket: Dr Amit Kumar & Jeevan taken to Mumbai
Dr. Amit Kumar, main accused in the kidney racket, & his brother Jeevan Kumar were on Sunday taken to Mumbai by Maharashtra Police in connection with a case registered against the duo in the metropolis. Metropolitan Magistrate of Marine Drive court had issued a production warrant against Dr Amit, Dr Jeevan & Dr Upender in 2005 on charges of removing the kidney of a person in Mumbai in 2005.
While Dr. Amit & Neeraj were lodged in Ambala central jail, Upender has been admitted in the civil hospital in Ambala for the last three days & is kept in the prison ward there. He had suffered a fall during the court hearing & became unconscious. Though Mumbai police was keen on taking Upender along with them, doctors attending on him did not give them permission.
