Indian girl’s murder in UK: Family denies affair with Nalluri Nagaraju Kumar
The family of murdered Indian student V S Jyothirmayi has denied that she had an affair with Nalluri Nagaraju Kumar, the murder suspect. Jyothirmayi’s sister Deepti Priya said that she was not aware of her sister living with Nagaraju at the Handsworth apartment, Birmingham.
Deepti Priya said in her statement, “The news that she was sharing her apartment with a boy came as a shock to us. My sister may have allowed Nagaraju to share her apartment out of trust. But I don’t think she was in love with him”. She said her sister never told her about the boy when she was visiting home eight months ago.
She further said in her statement that Jyothi was scheduled to travel to Paris on an educational trip next week. They suspect that Nagaraju could have demanded Jyothi to accept his love before leaving for Paris, got annoyed when she rejected his proposal & killed her in a fit of rage.
V S Jyothirmayi’s friend said, “She never took any decision without the permission of the family, which struggled to send her abroad for higher studies”.
