Hyundai Motors have on Monday launched its new hatchback ‘i20′ in the premium compact segment. The car is Hyundai’s second venture in the premium compact segment, which the company managing director Heung Soo Lheem has described as the “high growth segment” for the coming years.
i20 is the successor of i10 in the compact segment, and runs on the same 1.2 litre Kappa engine. The car, which will be available in three variants, is priced between Rs 4,79,900 and Rs 5,81,900 & will be manufactured in the automaker’s Chennai plant for domestic consumption as well as exports to Europe, Lheem said.
