Some unidentified persons on Sunday killed a pregnant woman & her husband. They were shot dead at Nirankari Bhavan near Govindnagar in Kanpur.

An official of Police said that Hemant Tripathi 29 years old a lawyer & his wife Nishtha 22 years old were returning to their home on a scooter on Sunday night, when four persons on two motorbikes stopped Hemant & allegedly shot him dead near Nirankari Bhavan T-point. Hemant Tripathi died on the spot.

The official said that Nishtha’s love marriage to Hemant, seven months back, had angered her uncle, Raju & his family. The uncle is, therefore, suspected to be involved in the murder of the duo.

The official of police said thet three persons have been arrested & investigations are on.
